insert excel in powerpoint 2007

No matter what I do- when I try to insert an Excel spreadsheet into PP2007,
it comes out huge. I don't mean the window- I mean each cell is enormous. I
can change the font or box sizes, but even the lettered top row and numbered
side column are huge. Dragging the main box handles does not change this
either. How can I format inserted Excel Files? I am using the Ribbon: Insert,
Table, Excel Spreadsheet.

There are two possible solutions to this problem, and which one you need to
use depends on whether all of the data that you need to show in your
presentation is being displayed. If it is all showing up, but it's just
stinking huge, then the anser is to resize the Object. To do this, you start
by click on it once. (It should have a light blue border around it and you
should NOT be able to edit the contents. Now select the "Format" menu. To
the far right, there should be a section titled "Size." You can adjust the
dimensions and it will shrink or enlarge the Object to whatever size you
prefer.

If you are not able to see all of your data, the fix is a little different.
You should start by double clicking on the Object. This should change the
box to look more like an Excel spreadsheet, only huge still. Now, you just
grab the right side of the box and enlarge it or shrink it. This will show
more or less data. Whatever you can see in this view is what you will see in
your presentation. Once you have all of your data visible, you can resize
your object with the first solution (above) to be pleasing to the eye.

Just FYI, the reason Powerpoint 2007 does this is to show your data as large
as possible so that it will be easier to read for viewers. This sounds nice,
but it isn't very visually pleasing...especially when you have 4-8 cells and
they are in 90 pt font.
