insert file as printout is unavailable

its grey and unavailable. and there is no print to Onenote availaible in the
Printers menu

What operating system are you using? If you are using any of the x64 Editions
of the Microsoft Windows Operating System, the OneNote Printer is not
available.

Vista 64. I wish I had never got it there is so little support for 64. I
can't believe even microsofts own products are not full compatable

It's not THAT bad. I am running 64 bit on my desktop and aside from the
OneNote Printer (which is a real pain) there's very little I can even recall
that doesn't work on x64.

I can not get a driver for a HP plotter or for a Fujitsu scanner both are not
supporting 64 and a web based maping system I use all the time also does not,
and has no plans to support Vista 64 so depends on what you use it for I
suppose

The fix is built-in in ON2010!
Download the Office 2010 Beta and install ON2010. You'll be settled
then.
If you want to stay with ON2007, however, use David Rasmussen's
workaround:
