Insert File Printouts

M

Mats

I try to Insert File Printouts in my one note document but my computer only
print out the file and nothing in my onenote document. In printer and faxes
the only to icons icons are my printer (set as default) and Microsoft Office
Document Image Writer

It is strange that the OneNote print driver is not listed in the printers list.
You could try repairing the OneNote installation (Help > Office Diagnostics
Start and then wait for it to complete).
Also, are you running Windows XP or Vista? The OneNote print driver does not
work on Vista 64-bit.

Hi Olya,

Will there be a version of the print driver for Vista 64 bit?

Currently we don't have one, and we are not clear yet exactly when we will be
able to provide one (although we would like to).

I hope you'll be able to! With the recent announcements of the
limitations of 32-bit Vista (doesn't play the DVD successor formats),
64-bit Vista will be a rather popular choice.

On which version of ON is this?
For ON 2003 one had to use an add-on.

For 2007 it's built-in. And if the printer was not installed than
probably has gone wrong during the install.
Use the "Add or Remove Software applet (Control Panel) to check if the
"Send to OneNote Add-in has been installed.

Hello Olya!

I´ve got XP. I reinstalled my onenote and now it´s OK. I don´t know what was
wrong but the reinstallation made it work

Was there a printer driver released yet for 64bit? I'm quite disapointed. I
try out One Note 2007 for fun on my new VISTA 64bit and I finaly find this
post that there is no driver. This sucks totaly.

I would like to find out what the difference between a 32bit driver VS a
64bit driver. If 32bit software work on 64bit Vista, why not drivers? Where
could I learn to program 64bit drivers? Maybe I could write a few. I have 3
great printers that do not have 64bit drivers and they are recent printers
too. The expensive $12,000 ones you know with direct "print" to fax but they
only work on 32 bit.

Please someone reply.

Hello Olya,

Your post here about Vista 64 bit support was dated 8/31/2006.
It's currently 4/6/2009, and I'm experiencing the same problem with the
print driver not working with Vista Ultimate 64-bit. I ran Office
Diagnostics, but no problem was found.

This blog article explains why it will never be fixed:
http://blogs.msdn.com/david_rasmussen/archive/2008/04/21/onenote-64-bit-print-driver.aspx

Should the OneNote Training be corrected to reflect this problem?

Here's one page that needs to be changed:
