Insert File with hyperlinks

FP 2003 web -

I created a "header" graphic and saved it on a single page (I have both htm
and asp file types saved; header.htm and header.asp). The graphic has a
hyperlinked hotspot which seems to work just fine when viewed on the web by
itself on the header.htm and the header.asp pages.

I use INSERT/FILE to place this header at the top of each page in my web - I
noticed that even though I am INSERTING A FILE with a .htm or .asp file
extension FP inserts the graphic (header.gif). When viewing pages with this
header the hyperlink does not appear to be present at all.

Can anyone tell me what I might be doing incorrectly?

If you have a page that you want to place at the top of another page, you
can use the FrontPage Include Component: Insert > Web Component > Included
Content and navigate to the page you want to include.
