Insert html code in shared border?

Help...! I'm using FP02 and I'm trying to insert a java script into the
upper shared border of my website pages and can't find it. When I open a
page and go to the html tab it only shows the header info then what's on the
page itself, not anything that is in border. I tried looking for a "page"
for the border in my file lists and can't find a thing. Is there anyway to
see the html code for everything in my border?

(What I'm actually trying to do is insert a script that allows my email
address to be shown but blocks it from the bots that love to spam me.) I want
to add it into the area that says email Mrs. B (www.patriotworld.com)

Go to Tools | Web Settings | Advanced Tab and enable viewing of hidden directories. Then you will
see the border folder, and inside you will see top.htm.

FYI: The JavaScript must be placed between the opening and closing body tags, and depending on what
the script does, may require all links to be absolute URL to images and pages
(http://www.domainname.com/images/imagename.gif, etc.).

Actually, I'm NOT all set. I can now see the folder _borders listed in the
window panes in my web and on the server when I go to publish but I still
don't see it in the list of folders on my web when I want to open in page
view to edit even if I choose file/open/and change the file type to all
files... (?)

Did you open the live site in FP change the settings to what you just did on your local web?

Yes I did. And I was also able to access the _borders folder in the live web
and try making the change. Naturally it worked and was reflected on my site
until the next time I published and it reverted to what was on my web. So, I
still don't know how to access the folder in my web on my hd.

After you made the changes on the live/remote server, you should then publish back to your local
copy so that it is updated.

I can do that but every time I try to publish back to my local copy, it seems
that EVERY file publishes back not just the one that I changed. When this
happens, I constantly get messages that the "web has been changed by blah,
blah, blah, do you want to replace?" A Yes answer results in conflicts and
the publishing "hangs" on those files resulting in me having to cancel the
update and go in to manually publish each file... what a pain! The other
day, it took hours to get through because I was constantly having to address
the files that hung.

If you make a change in a shared border or FP Include page, then every page using the included
content will be updated and published. Avoid using Selective File Publishing as it doesn't update
any reference to included content, navigation, etc., it just copies the actual file between
location.
