Insert hyperlink in shared workbook

In Excel 2003 it seems to be impossible to insert a hyperlink in a cell when
the workbook is shared and protection of the worksheet is on (even though the
protection of the worksheet explicitly excludes the insertion of hyperlinks).
Is there a way to circumvent this?

I don't have XL03 to test with right now - you may have more success
posting in a different newsgroup, since this one is dedicated to MacXL
