Insert key types superscript 3

When using Word 2003, one of our computers is typing a superscript 3 when the
Insert key is pressed to change from Insert mode to Overtype mode. I haven't
found any key combinations to make it stop doing this. I can double-click
the OVR at the bottom to change to overtype, but I can't use the insert key
as a toggle.

Probably someone made this key assignment by mistake (you can assign a
shortcut key to a symbol in the Insert > Symbol dialog, and the Insert
key can be assigned like most others). It's easy enough to fix...

Open the Tools > Customize dialog and click the Keyboard button.
Select the All Commands category, and then select the Overtype
command. Put the cursor in the "Press new shortcut key" box and press
the Insert key. You'll probably see "Currently assigned to: ³ " in
the space below the box. Click the Assign button and then OK. Be sure
to save the Normal.dot template the next time you shut down Word.
