Insert Object and create pdf

In a word file after "insert/object/from file/display as icon (this is a word
doc inside another word doc) I can double click the icon and open the word
file.
But after "create pdf" and open the pdf file the icon doesn´t work, it
doesn´t open in the pdf.
How can I make it work?

Thanks.

Unfortunately I don't know of any Word function or a Acrobat function that
will do this. I have Acrobat 7 Pro so don't know if the newer versions have
this capacity.
What I tend to do, if I have to, is to use the Acrobat menu Tools, Comments,
Attached a file as a comment, then you get a stick-pin, which I place next to
the image of the embedded file and attach the file again.
If anyone knows of a better way or that the newer version can accomplish
this, I will be interested as well.
Hope this helps

This is not a Word issue. Check the Windows file association for PDF is to
open your PDF reader.

The pdf files opens but the word icon inside the pdf that should open the
word file doesn´t work it seems to be just a "image"!

Sorry - I misread the original requirement. You cannot embed a Word document
in a PDF file. You could insert a Hyperlink to the Word document, but you
would need to ensure that the user of the PDF had access to the linked
location.

I haven't had a chance to try this, so I don't know if it'll work. But when
you've inserted the object icon, try right-clicking on it and selecting
Hyperlink. Then enter the address of your object in the Address field.

I hope that the hyperlink will transfer to your pdf.

Please let me/us know if it works.

Thanks,

Fred

Thanks, but I really just wnt to send one pdf file without any other docs.
But I´m sure it worked in the past, many times :-(

thanks, hyperlinks work but I don´t want to attach other docs. Just one pdf
with word docs inside...

You could ask the Acrobat forum, but I don't think this was ever possible. I
can find nothing about it in Acrobat's help file.
