Insert object menu is blank

The entire Insert Object menu has disappeared (Insert Object, Create New
tab). (Word XP/2002). I recently installed Word Perfect 12, but that
shouldn't affect Word. How do I get those menu items back, especially the
equation editor?

WordPerfect tends to install several 'untitiled'
object handlers in Windows and that affects the
Insert=>Object dialog. Are you able to scroll
down past the newe entries in Insert=>Object?

Yes, the "blank" list is actually the old one with enough blank lines to look
like an empty list. Thanks.
