insert object of PP2007 slide looks crummy

I need to allow editing of a PP2007 slide's content after bringing it into
W2007. What I notice in Word though is that the appearance of the lines in
this slide's org chart and all around the boundaries of the autoshapes get
jaggedy looking. This is when I choose > Insert> Object> and then browse to
the file. Is there a way to overcome this? If I simply copy/paste the
slides's contents into Word (as a MS graphic object), it looks great. But, I
can not make edits to the pasted result. I need this to be editable and I
sure don't want to have to re-draw this in W2007.

Any thoughts?

Use Paste Special with the link option set. Changes in the slide will be
reflected in the document while the slide is open in PP, and when you update
the Link field when it is not.

Hmmmm Graham, I'm a bit stumped.

When I copy the PP org chart and then try paste special in Word2007 .docm
file, I have no link option available. I recalled seeing a link option with
the Insert> Object> browse to file steps so I tried this. I selected link to
file when inserting the PP slide. The image looks great, but all this allows
is for PP to launch in slideshow mode when I click on the object in Word. It
doesn't allow me to edit the object in Power Point. What am I doing wrong?

Graham..I wasn't real clear on that last post. What I meant was, I cannot
edit the org chart while I am "standing" in the Word file. For the coworkers
I support, this will be an issue.

Copy the slide to the clipboard.
Do not close PP yet
Open the Word document
Paste > Special
The paste link option will be available
Whichever option you choose, the object will be clickable to edit it in PP.
Choose the default options.
I don't see any loss of resolution here?

Graham..thanks so much. You are right and this works GREAT! I realize now
what was happening earlier. I was copying the contents of the slide, not the
slide itself. (It's those little things that'll get 'ya every time!) It is
now editable in PP for the user.

I have a follow up question. Is this a preferred method of adding objects
over using insert> object> from file? Also, I noticed now there is a prompt
when opening the file about "do you want to update the link." I'll need to
alert my coworkers they'll start to see this.

Thanks for your patience with my questions.

Preferred? I can't say. It does make it simple to insert individual slides
from a presentation.
The warning will only show if the setting 'Prompt to update links on open'
is checked in Word Options > Advanced > General. Otherwise the links are not
updated.
