insert page number

Every time I want to insert page number, the top, below page options are fade
and the gallerey is no where to be seen, in addition I have tried to delete
the building block file ar moving it but my widows is vesta (no document and
setting folder hence the above file is only in the mainoffice folder. my
office software is enterprise 2007. any other solutions?

The Building Blocks.dotx file should be in the user profile no matter which
version of Windows you are using. I don't know the exact path for user
profiles in Vista, but you should be able to type %userprofile% in the Run
dialog box to open the correct folder.

I'm afraid I couldn't find the (other) building blocks.dotx in that folder,
the only file by that name is in programfiles\microsoft
office\office12\document parts\1025.
I have tried deleting that file which did not help. I have tried repairing
the software from the CD which didn't help.

Since I don't use Vista, I don't know exactly how it works, but a first step
might be to show hidden files and folders. Does that help?

I'm afraid this didn't help as all the files and folders are on "show hidden
folders"

Did you try using "Microsoft Office Diagnostic" program and checked for any
errors?

I have already tried that, although it stated that a problem was sorted but
it continues to happen
