Insert picture – Adobe Illustrator file – Amended post

Please ignore earlier post - I forgot to indicate the version I am using.

I have an image with an .ai extension and want to insert it into a Word
document. However, Word does not seem to recognise it as an image file.
When I attempt to insert it it brings up the Convert File window. I have
tried the options in the Window that are installed but none of them work.

I am using Word 2003 but will save the file to type Word 97 – 2003 & 6.0/95
– RTF (*.doc)

Can anyone help here?

Office doesn't have .ai filters. Couldn't the folks that sent you the image
convert it for you? CorelDraw can open .ai files. Xnview claims to open .ai
files, it is a free viewer.

The image file needs to be resaved in a valid image format using Illy,
itself, or another graphics editor capable of doing so.

Thank you - good to know I'm not missing something. I'll get them to
convert.
