insert picture from scanner

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

I'm unable to insert a picture or any text directly from my scanner Samsung SCX-4200.
Before I used word 2004 and then it was no problem. The menu Insert- picture-from scanner did the job.
I would be happy to receive any suggestions.

Office 2008 doesn't support Twain - the technology you're referring to.
You'll need to scan & save as a file, then use Insert> Picture to add it to
your document.

If that's something you'd like to see returned in the future use Help> Send
Feedback & express yourself to MS. If they get enough demand it could happen
in a future release, "possibly" in an update to 2008.

Thanks Bob,
Now the next problem is how to use a mac program to get a scan from my printer/scanner Samsung SCX-4200. I tried to find a program on my mac and reinstalled software from Samsung (Samsung Scan Tru) but couldn't find a way to get my picture!

I saw your other reply as well. Apparently Samsung is another of those who
likes to make some money from sales to Mac users without giving them
anywhere near the amount of "extras" included for those on the Dark Side :)

If Image Capture will satisfy your requirements, great, but if you want some
reasonably priced, high quality software to drive your scanner you might
look into: http://www.hamrick.com/vsm.html

They offer both a Standard & Professional version. Just make sure to check
their compatibility list first & a free trial is available.

How do i get it to scan from image capture? I click on image capture and it says there is no device connected. My scanner is combined with my printer. Any help i'd apreiciate :)

Sorry, Joe, but with nothing more to go on there's nothing to be offered.

I'd suggest you submit a New question rather than replying to another
question on a different subject. Make sure to state all particulars about
what version of Mac Office, Mac OS and specific details about what you're
trying to do as well as what is/isn't happening.

However, if you're actually inquiring about the Image Capture program
supplied with OS X, that's an Apple issue & has nothing to do with anything
from Microsoft. You'd be better off in the Apple Discussions here:
