Insert Picture Word & PowerPoint

Has Microsoft offered a fix for the issues with the Insert
Picture/From File command? I've seen a few posts complain about my
issue. The system defaults to a thumbnail view and defaults to the
Clip Art folder. If you want to view yout file list by details you
have to change it each and every time you import a picture. Likewise
you always start at the Clip Art folder, even if you've got a dozen
pictures in the same folder that you wish to use. It looks like you
can't change these settings. Have they done anything to fix this?

The only work around I've seen is to use control-click to select
multiple pictures and import them all at ones (when they are all in
the same folder).

Hi Jim,

I believe Bob helped you with the default View problem, as for the
default Clipart folder:

This is due to using a path for "Clipart pictures" found under
Tools/Options/File Locations.

If this path is empty then Word will remember the last folder you
selected. If there is a path then Word will default to the folder
specified each time you use the Insert/Picture/From File command.

Hopefully you use Word 2000 or below because you can delete the path
from the Modify dialog box. As of Word 2002 the only way I can think
of to delete the path is to delete/rename the "PICTURE-PATH" value is
in the Registry under:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Word\Options
