insert ppt slide into word template error

I get this error message when I copy a slide from ppt as reference in a word
2003 table. It goes in fine then after saving disappears and is replaced by
"Error! Objects cannot be created from editing field codes." I have tried to
select retain source formattng but it doesnt help. This error does not occur
with every slide. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Sandy Z: Can you describe exactly how you are copying the image and how you
are creating the reference.
As you know, the Error message indicates that the source for the reference
has been removed/lost and the automatic update of fields/links upon saving
results in the error.
This usually has nothing to do with the source foramtting but how the link
is being constructed in the first place.
More details may solve this issue.
