Insert Slides From Outline Powerpoint 2007

Using PPT2007 Office XP Pro. I create a new presentation using a standard
template (verdana font heading with bulleted verdana body) and use the option
New Slide > Slides from Outline to insert all slides from a previously
created PPT2003 project. However, the new presentation DOES NOT use the new
(Verdana font) for heading or text. Nor are the bullets applied in the new
template (blue square). Anyone have any ideas what I can do to fix this
problem? Much appreciated!

Hi Echo I tried your recommendation, works for the first 5-10 slides. After
that the formatting remains same as original presentation. What I do is
create a new presentation (using my template) > new slide > reset > slides
from outline. Then I select all slides > reset still only 5-10 slidedes go to
new format. I tried doing reset before inserting and after inserting same
results. Seems like a 'bug' incompatability btwn 2003 and 2007 idk it's
frustrating as there are hundreds of slides I need to insert into this new
template. Thanks for your reply though

What I'm not seeing is you choosing the appropriate layout first.

Insert the slides. Select them.

Then go to the Layout button on the Home tab (next to New Slide button).
Since you're inserting slides from outline, I'm guessing they're all
bulleted text slides. So choose the Title + Content Layout. This changes the
layout of existing slides you've selected.

Then hit the Reset button.

You know, I'm confused. If you're inserting slides from outline, there
wouldn't be an "original format." Try New Slide | Reuse Slides and then
navigate to the presentation in the pane.

Sometimes when you insert slides from another file, you have to hit the
Reset button twice. At least you did in PPT 2003. But that still doesn't
negate the need to choose the slide layout. Make sure you do that.

HI Echo I tried your sugggestion and still no go :( What I think happened is
the text boxes in the original PPT2003 file were manually created. From what
I've read in some of these posts, if any text box is created manually, it
will not be converted to the new format when using your procedure. Don't get
me wrong, your procedure DOES work for SOME, but not all, slides. Which is
why I think the manual creation is messing me up. Perhaps there is a VBA
(macro) which will do this?? any thoughts.... maybe STEVE has created one???
(sorry don't mean to shout, this is frustrating ;) IMHO getting rid of the
Macro Wizard in 2007 is a major faux pas! I can not find any book to teach
VBA in Powerpoint (hint) But thanks for your help Echo

Yup, you're right -- manual textboxes won't take on the formatting from the
masters when you reapply/reset the slide layout.

That's one reason I was confused about how you were getting the slides into
the file. If they're coming in from outline, they're going to come into the
placeholders. Sounds like you're working with actual slides and not just a
text outline, though.

Hopefully someone's got some code for you, otherwise it's a lot of manual
drag-and-drop!
