Hi there - when i try to insert a symbol from the insert menu, the symbols show up, but they are so TINY, it's impossible for me to choose one quickly, I have to mouse over each symbol individually in order to see it properly. I remember that in Word X, I could change the size of this window and the symbols would increase, so that I could scan more easily. Is there a way to do this in Word 2008? Please help!
Thanks,
Kristina

You can click & hold on the character to get a larger, higher contrast look
& the implementation on the Formatting Palette provides even larger display.

But in all honesty the Word Symbol set is very limited. Depending on your
needs you might look into the OS X Character Palette, accessibility to which
can be added to the main Menu bar & used in any application.

Hi there - thanks for your response, but that's not really what I meant. I know that by holding the mouse over a character, or clicking on it will enlarge that particular character - I am looking for a way to increase the entire set, not one at a time. Basically just make the window bigger. Is that possible? It's great to be able to see all of the characters available for a particular typeface, but the functionality of seeing them so small is horribly compromised.

And you're right - the set under the object palette is very limited!

Thanks!

Sorry, but the Insert> Symbol dialog window cannot be resized, nor can the
content within it. OTOH, the Character Palette I mentioned can be adjusted
within certain proscribed limits - I highly recommend you check it out.
