Insert underlined locked space in the middle of a sentence?? Help

I am trying to add a space in the middle of a sentence so that users can
insert their name.. ex ( I, _________ , am an honest person.) I was using
the lines in AutoShape, which work great for keeping the line locked down,
but then the words to the right of the line move when you are typing. I
want the space locked so that the words following the line do not move.

Any suggestions?
