Inserted Auto Text ("Y" variable)

Word2000 - I have a cover page with a section break - and
I need to insert "Page X of Y" on the second page. I have
the "X" variable set to start with 1, but the "Y" variable
is inserting my non-numbered cover page. Help!

If there's only one section after the cover page, you can use "Page { PAGE }
of { SECTIONPAGES }" instead of "Page { PAGE } of { NUMPAGES }." Or you
could use "Page { PAGE } of { = { NUMPAGES } - 1 }."
