I am trying to insert a background picture in an e-mail message.
The image is a color .jpg, 3.2Megs.
HTML is turned on.

I am able to locate and specify the picture I'd like to insert, but when I command to insert it, no picture appears in the message. Also, in the Message Menu, the "Remove background picture" is greyed out, which confirms Entourage hasn't recognized any medium.

I believe that Entourage 2008 has a size limit of 400KB for .jpg
attachments, and I'll bet it applies to backgrounds too.

Try making the picture of lower quality or smaller size or both to get the
file size smaller than 400KB.

Aside from the issues of end-user preferences and choices, what are the limits in entourage for pix, etc?

What am I limited to, in terms of inserted media? Are the limits the same for attachments?

Please be specific. Thank you!

There is nothing published. Hardly anyone has ever asked about using
backgrounds and I have no info handy to share.

If you are creating a holiday card you might want to check out Apple Mail's

It shouldn¹t be attaching something that weighs that much if any. First of
all, check to make sure that you aren¹t attaching anything. If nothing,
check your signatures in your email to make sure that you don¹t have a
graphic being sent in all of your messages. This can be in some cases.

So every single email message you send out is going to have this 3.2 MB
attachment plus the HTML message itself? I sure feel sorry for your
recipients![/QUOTE]
