I have just rolled out Office 2007 in a 2003 server/citrix and XP
environment. I have many old word documents (Training Manuals) that have .png
images embedded. When opening the documents in Word 2007 the embedded images
are now all black. If I convert the document to the new .docx format and
rename the extention to .zip I can extract the images and view with Windows
picture and fax viewer or paint. However, if the images are inserted into a
new Office 2007 document (excel, ppt, word ...) the images maintain their
size but are plain black. I can open the image in paint and "save as" another
filename.png which then opens correctly under all Office 2007 applications.
Is there a proper fix for this??
