Inserted Picture / Clipart not displayed

When I insert a clipart on word 2000, it only displays the border without
the image. I have tried also inserting a picture thru printscreen, same
story. Hope you might help. I am using Windows XP Prof.

Are you in Normal view perhaps, change to Page Layout view.
Or take a look in Tools - options - View tab - there should be an option
there called drawings that ought to be checked and another one called
Picture placeholders that should not be.
