Inserted pictures not visible in Word 2007 when document is opened

If I insert pictures from files into a document using Word 2007, only the
picture outlines are visible but not the pictures themselves. If I double click
inside an outline that one picture would become visible and nothing else.

How can I make inserted pictures in a document visible ALL at the same time like
all words in a document are visible simultaneously when a document is opened.

Please advise.
