Hello,
Please bear with me as I haven't created in database in
over 5 years. I want to create a very basic database to
keep track of my DVDs. The only information I want in
there is the movie title, category, year, and a preview
of the cover of the DVD (so I want to be able to insert a
JPEG file which I can see in form and report view).
I've never created a database with pictures in it so I've
been reading through the help files (after looking online
to try to find sample databases without much success) and
this is what I've done:
I've created a Table with the appropriate fields,
however, the field that I'm having problems with is the
field into which I'd like to insert the photo. The way I
did it (which is maybe not the correct way) is created
an "OLE Object" field. I then went into Datasheet view
and clicked in the field and selected "Insert Object" and
then "Create from File". I browsed through and selected
the appropriate image and thought this would work.
However, when I go to my Form, I can't see the image. I
do get the file name of the image in the "Bound Object
Frame". When I right click on this, and select "Package
Object/Activate Contents", I then get a preview of the
file, but not within the dbase, just in the regular
Windows Explorer view.
Anyway, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Jessy
