Inserting a column

M

Marree

I have made a table 6x6, then merged the cells in the top
row for a heading. After typing in all the data, I then
needed to insert another column in the lower 5 rows, it
adds another column to the top row alsoand the bottom
rows are out of proportion.

Hi Marree

Click within the first cell in the second row (ie in the cell below your
merged "heading" cells). Click Table > Split Table. That will split your
table into two tables, and place an empty paragraph between them. Now, add
your extra column to the lower table. When you've got it just right, delete
the empty paragraph between the two tables, and they'll merge back into one
again.

Hope this helps.
