Inserting a CV (OLE Object?)

Hi there
I have a database which is basically a list of consultants. My boss would like to have a link in each person's record to their CV. I have seen a database which does this but can't work out how to do it in mine.

I added a field in table design view and selected OLE object as the type and had lovely ideas that a dialogue box sequence would pop up explaining to me what to do, (like when setting a drop down list or something like that) but to no avail.

Does anyone know how to do this? I am not an Access Expert and have no programming experience. Any advice gratefully received.

Hi Kate,

Rather than storing the actual file in the database you can create a link in
the database to the file on the network. This way if the file ever changes
you will not need to change the file in access also.

Change the data type to "Hyperlink" and just enter the location of the file
on the network into the CV field
