inserting a different (ole) picture into each record of a database.

i am using access-97 on a windows-98 computer (not on a
network).

following the instructions in a (how-to-use-access)
book .. i created a new database .. and included a table
element (photo) .. data-type = ole-object.

when i tried to insert a photo into the photo box on the
form (using several methods) i get an error 2753.

a problem occurred while access was communicating with the
ole server.

i did a total install of office-97 .. except for binders
and outlook.

i searched the microsoft knowledge base and tried the fix
suggested in article 180313 (a related problem) .. but it
did not solve the problem.

any suggestions ?
