Inserting a field and make it anything I like?

New2Project

Is there a feature in MS Project 2003 where I can create a new field and make
that field whatever I want? For example I want to call the field something
like 'Comments' and make the input mask Characters 250. Therefore I will be
able to type any characters into that field.

I then want to be able to insert this field to the 'Project Center' in PWA,
and all the information I will have typed into that field will appear in PWA.

I know I can create enterprise custom fields but there is only one problem,
when this is inserted into MS Project, I cannot type anything into this
column and this is suppose to happen.

Thanks in advance

Hi,
First of all create an enterprise level text field and name it comments or
whatever suitable name you want.
Now open the project in which you want the additional fields to appear
click tools-customize-published fields.
From the available fields select the new comments field and click copy
Select the field and now check on let resource change the field option if
you want the resource to edit the information
Click Ok
Re-publish the project
Hope this is useful.
