inserting a link to a word doc on my J drive

Susan Moody

I am sending a word doc to my co-workers, and need to
insert an attachment or link. The problem being the
document I need to insert as the attachment or link is on
my j drive. I can't figure out how to do it so they can
open it from their computers. So, ultimately, I need
them to be able to open up a word doc, then open up other
word docs embedded within. Any ideas? Thanks

Susan,

Word by default uses relative hyperlinks. This means that
whatever folder in which the word file lives, it looks
there for links, unless indicated otherwise.

What I am thinking, is that if your co-workers have access
to this drive, why not simply save the files to the same
folder there and create a link to this path in your email.
You can otherwise modify the hyperlink base using the
properties dialog....

File | Properties | Summary (tab): and then enter the
hyperlink base there.
