Inserting a PDF file into Powerpoint

S

Susan Graham

In the past I have used Insert-Picture-From file to insert
a PDF file into a powerpoint slide.

However for some PDF files - I am get a "Convert File
From" dialog box when I try to insert a PDF file using
this method.

From read several of the post - I was able to use the
Graphics select tool work around, but just wanted to know
why sometimes I can use the Insert menu and other times I
cannot.

It's odd in the extreme that it ever worked in the past. PowerPoint can't
insert PDF files on its own and has never been able to, at least not via
Insert, Picture, From File.

It's possible that some outside software installed an import filter in one
of the Office apps (and generally once one has access to an import filter,
they all do).
