Inserting a picture into Word 2000 Version 9.0.0 3822

For a while now whenever I want to insert a picture file
into a document I get a very long list of Clip Collection
pointers before I can reach Clip Art or From File.

I cannot delete them and have no idea why or how
so many were generated.

Ideas how to remove all but one would be appreciated.
