Inserting a Table

Could anyone tell me how to insert a table of results - basically six columns
of numbers - that would also be readable in firefox or other alternate
browsers? THANKS!

Go to Tools > Options > Web tab and uncheck "Rely on VML..." and "Allow
PNG...".

Try copy and paste special, and probably as an image, but try the different
options.

If these suggestions don't help, then how about some details as to what you
have tried, specifically what the problem is, a link to see the problem, the
version of Publisher, IE, and OS you are using, where you are getting the
table, etc., etc.

Thank you! I copied the cells from an excel spreadsheet and did a paste
special as a picture and it looks great in IE. I still have to see what it
looks like in firefox, but I can't do that until I publish it. I'll let you
know, but I'm hopeful. I'm using Publisher 2007. Thanks again. CathyM

You are welcome. Thanks for posting back.

Sometimes I find a GIF image better than a JPG, so try both. The GIF can be
substantially smaller and load more quickly...

You can see how the spreadsheet will look before you publish it to your
host. When you Publish to the Web, instead of directing the output to your
web host, direct it to a folder on your computer where you can open it with
FF.

Publish to the Web and as soon as the dialog comes up, look at the left side
and you will see My computer, my network places, my documents, and Desktop.
I choose Desktop, create a new folder to contain the html output, and save
to that folder. That way it is easy to find and easy to delete when I am
done with it. Just remember that you have to change things back the next
time you Publish to the Web.

Then open FireFox go to File > Open File and browse to the folder and double
click any of the *.htm files to view them. Don't forget that you will
probably have an index.htm file (your home page) and an index_files folder,
which is where your other .htm pages are stored. Find the one with the
spreadsheet image on it, and open it.

Shortcut - - You can also just go directly to those .htm files and right
click > Open with > FF.

No need to upload your files before testing. Do it on your computer.

I have never been able to "test" my site in firefox until your thorough
explanantion. You have saved me lots of time and frustration! Thank you!!

Good! There is enough time and frustration with web design even when things
go well...glad to save you a little.
