I'm trying to get some control over audio/video files playing in Word.
If I hyperlink an audio file, it will play but there appears to be no way to
control the playback aside from letting it run its course.
I've tried embedding a wmplayer object but cannot figure out how to get it
to play a specific file (tried variations suggested in documentation of
wmplayer /play "filename.ext", wmplayer filename.ext, wmplayer
"filename.ext", etc). Always get a "cannot open file" error.
I'd like to call up, through hyperlink or object, the minimal control
features of play, pause, stop buttons plus slider. Even a simple play and
stop would be nice.
If I directly hyperlink to video files I get an instance of WMP that I can
control. Why do audio files not generate this? Is it because I am using
wav? If I convert to another format will the WMP launch?
Any help will be appreciated.
TIA!
