Inserting Comments in Endnotes

B

bob adler

I received for editing an article in Word with
embedded endnotes. While I can easily insert comments in
the text with Alt+i+m, I am not able to use that feature
to insert them in the endnotes.
(Also, when I go to Normal view, the endnotes disappear.)

How can I insert comments in the endnotes?
Thanks.

Have you tried View | Footnotes?

My MacWord 2001 (roughly=PCWord 2000) won't let me insert comments in
Footnotes either. I just figured it was a limitation of the software (just
another aspect of the generally clueless way Word developers treat
end/footnotes). Is something wrong with my setup, or do other versions
offer this function?

Bob, View | Footnotes will let you see the notes in Normal view, but as far
as I can tell, there is no way to see both Notes and Comments in Normal view
at the same time.

Yep, I can confirm (Word 2002). If I'm in the footnote/endnote pane, Insert
| Comment is grayed out. Sorry.

Thanks for the confirmation, I'll just add it to my feedback list...
