Inserting drawing objects

S

Stephani

For anyone who is beta testing Office 2003, I have two
questions. Does the 'Create Drawing Here' box still
appear whenever you try to insert an object from the
Drawing toolbar? That feature is cumbersome and makes it
difficult to work with graphic elements that in Office
2000 had been easy to use. Also, do text boxes still
become objects when you are trying to copy and paste
them?

Thanks.

Hi Stephani,

In both Word 2002 and 2003 you can turn off the
drawing canvas in Tools=>Options=>General but
still have it available from Insert=>Picture=>New Drawing.

I'm not sure what you're looking for in the 2nd question.
MS Office autoshapes are objects. You can use
Edit=>Paste Special to select a different format if
you don't need to be able to edit the contents,
or Edit=>Paste Special and select HTML format or
MS Office Drawing Object if you need to have them
editable rather than pictures.
