Inserting excel spreadsheet into word - problems

Hi

I have a word document with two inserted excel tables.
To insert the tables I selected the rows/columns in excel and selected copy.
In word I selected Paste Special and then Paste Link - As - Microsoft Office
Worksheet object. (Basically I want the word document to be updated with
changes to the excel tables).
The first time I do this the word document looks fine.
If I reopen the word document and choose Yes to automatic updates the text
in the linked excel tables looks poor.
In some cases letters in words are on top of each other and in other cases
there are visible spaces between letters in the same word. (E.g w hich)
If I copy the excel table into word document again all is OK, but on
reopening the problems reappears.
Both the excel and word are saved in Office 2007.
Any idea what is going wrong.

Thanks in advance

The default setting for paste as a link from Excel is HTML format which is
probably the best choice, but all the linked formats will update. Choose the
one that suits you best. You can simply change the switch on the link field
to save re-pasting.

Sorry,

The problems is that when I update the linked table the text in the table
looks unprofessional.
Why does text which looks fine in excel appear like this (E.g. w hich b oard
- note the spaces) in Word.

The font I am using is Arial.

If you do as I suggested the linked text will appear exactly as it does in
Excel. If you want it to adopt the format of the location into which you
insert the link, add a \*charformat switch to the Link field.
