Inserting favicon.ico into index page

This has probably been asked 100K times. Please help, I don't seem to be
able to insert a favicon.ico image into my index page or into my images
pages because FP does not support the .ico image. Is there a way to get
around this?

Don't know what you mean by 'insert'. Open your site live with FP and drag
and drop the favicon.ico file. Make sure it meets the size etc requirements.

I've been wanting to do this for some time. Your question made me remember
about it, thank you! In fact, I found it to be quite a simple process,
and I think I'm inordinately pleased that it worked. <smile>

I just googled 'favicon' and there were a few websites with info how to do
this. I thought I only needed to do it on the main page too, but discovered
I needed to add the lines of code for each page to have my icon appear in
the address line. Still, it was dead simple. I'm glad too.....I never
knew why I was seeing the Netscape icon there, when IE is my default
browser.....and it did annoy me. Now problem solved and then some.
