Inserting Fields Into Headers

I want to know if it's possible to create Field entries in
Headers. When I try to do it now the the section for
creating entries is greyed out and therefore I can't
select them. Any suggestions? We are using Word 2000.

Once you enter into the Header/Footer, is there a
drawing/image that gets selected or that is the only
element there?

FYI, the page number are fields, so if you have these,
then you must be able. Instead of using the menu, hit Ctrl-
F9. Two curly brackets will then appear. Field definition
is manual. Hit F1 for assistance.
