Inserting files into Office documents

It is no longer possible to insert a file into documents by clicking
Insert/clicking the arrow for drop down list. At this point the progam stops
responding and must be closed.

I am having this problem all of a sudden with all programs in MS Office
Small Business Edition 2003. I have tried doing Detect and Repair in all of
the programs but that does not help.

What do I need to do in order to fix this problem?

Windows XP: Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows
desktop or in the Windows Start menu, left-click on Disconnect
Network Drive, and disconnect any mapped drives that are not
currently available.

Windows Vista: Click on Start | Computer | Tools | Disconnect
Network Drive, and disconnected any mapped drives that are not
currently available.
