Inserting GIF files into Microsoft Word Document

E

Ed Ehrlich

I received a Microsoft Word document which had several GIF files
inserted into it. Even though the original GIF files are very
reasonably sized (no more than 10 KB each) the entire Microsoft Word
file is well over a megabyte in size.

Another unusual things is that when I select the images created by the
GIF files 8 small circles appear along the border. But when I myself
insert a GIF file into the Microsoft Word document, there is no size
problem and 8 small squares appear along the image's border.

Does anybody have any idea what the creater of the Word file is doing
to get such different results from me?

Thanks,
