inserting images into emails

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Email Client: pop In Entourage 2004 I used to drag a Pict image into the body of emails where I had positioned the curser. On my new Powerbook with Entourage 2008 the images become huge on recipients screens or don't show at all.
Help! I can no longer send out my newsletters.
