Inserting Math Equations?

J

James H.

I'm a recent convert to OS X, so if this is a really obvious question,
please pardon my ignorance. In Windows Office 2K, if one wants to
insert a mathematical equation, they do: Insert > Object > Microsoft
Equation 3.0. Is there an Office 2K4 Mac analogue?

Thank you in advance!

It's the same in Office 2004. Insert/Object/Microsoft Equation.

Make sure the app "Equation Editor" is in your Microsoft Office
2004:Office: folder.

A PS. If you need this doc to be used on both Windows and Mac, however, I
just learned that apparently you should actually use MathType or MathType
Lite (one paid, one free--fuller versions of Equation Editor, and
cross-platform) instead. See dessci.com.

PPS. MathType Lite is what MathType turns into when you download the 30-day
demo but decide not to buy it.
