inserting mpeg video files

Hi,

I am running PowerPoint 97 on windows 2000, when I try to
insert an Mpeg video file.

insert > movies and sounds > movie from file

I get the error message

" PowerPoint couldn't insert video movie from the selected
file"

I tried looking on the web for a solution but I can't find
reference to windows 2000 and PowerPoint 97

Can any one help?

Did the video clip come from a digital camera by any chance.?

If so...
