Inserting new tasks causes project to auto add actual hrs?

I took over a project that needed task inserted. Also tracking actual hrs
worked per tasks. After I inserted the tasks, project started adding 8 hrs
per resource for actual hrs worked that I'm not entering. Why is this?
There are no impact to the actual hrs from the weeks prior to my changes
(working with Project 2003)--

Can you tell us exactly what you did to get this result? Clearly it doesn't
seem right.

What version of Project, are you using Project Server, do you have an
automated time sheet system?
