Inserting picture from file

P

Polli

I have used Word as my editor for Outlook for a long time, and frequently
insert a photo from a file. In the past, the photo has come out normal size,
or even a bit larger than the original pixel size of the file. But lately,
it inserts as the same size as the thumbnail in the Insert dialog box, and I
have to resize it up to the normal size.

Why has this started happening suddenly? Is there some setting I changed
inadvertently?

Thank you!

Go to Tools > Options. On the General tab click Web Options. On the Pictures
tab, check the 'Pixels per inch' setting. The displayed size of an imported
picture in Word is the resolution of the original graphic file divided by
this number. (For most on-screen purposes, 96 is the best value.)

I checked, and it was already set that way.
When I look at the Format Picture>Size dialog, at the bottom it gives the
"original size" as the size of the thumbnail in the "insert picture" dialog
box, rather than the pixel size of the photo the thumbnail represents!

Thanks!
