Inserting Picture Word 2002 Float over Text?

J

Jacki Howard

My company just switched me from Word 97 to Word 2002. I
used to be able to bring in art using Insert->Picture-
From File and I would click the "Float Over Text" option,
set the wrapping to "None" and I could put my graphic
wherever I wanted. Now the "Float over Text" option is
gone and I CANNOT figure out how to get a free floating
piece of art in my document that doesn't screw up my text.
Specifically I'm doing a Mail Merge document (namebadges)
and when I bring in the art it is moving my merge field
around. HELLLLPPPP!!!

Click on the picture. This displays the Picture toolbar. Click on the Text
Wrapping button (dog icon) and choose any wrapping style other than In Line
with Text (the initial default). Once you've figured out which wrapping
style you prefer, you can choose it as the default on the Edit tab of Tools
| Options.
