Inserting Picture

I'm using PPT 2003. I want to replace pictures in a presentation. When I
insert a new picture, it is VERY LARGE. I would like to be able to insert the
new pictures at the correct size AND have a border around it. Is this
possible? [Is there a PICTURE FRAME command on PPT 2007 that accomplishes
this?] Can I resize the picture AND add the frame by using any formatting
tools available in 2003?

When you insert a picture in to powerpoint it has a guess of the correct
size to first display that image. If it gets it too big or too small, it's
easy for you to manually resize to the image

click the image in powerpoint, your should see some corner markets appears,
click and hold any of the corner handles/markers, then drag the mouse to
make the picture bigger or smaller, then click and hold in the centre of the
picture to move the picture where you want it.

if you want to insert lots of pictures at the same time

see

Yes, I know I CAN resize the inserted picture...I just don't WANT to resize
it. I would like it inserted the exact size I want...AND with the appropriate
border around it.

You can use a picture placeholder with a frame. Most of the themes that
shipped with PowerPoint have picture slide layouts (picture with caption,
actually). Pick one that's similar to what you want, adjust that slide
layout, and then insert your images by clicking the icon in the placeholder.

You can also insert your own picture placeholder on the slide layout in
Master View and apply effects to it as you wish. When you close Master View
and select that layout on the Home tab, you'll be able to add your picture
to the placeholders, and it will pick up the effects you added to the
placeholder on the layout.

Hi dlrabuck,

: I'm using PPT 2003. I want to replace pictures in a presentation. When I
: insert a new picture, it is VERY LARGE. I would like to be able to insert
the
: new pictures at the correct size

What do mean by "correct size"?
If you want the whole picture to be seen filling the screen while retaining
the aspect ratio, with no resizing required, try:

INSERT | NEW SLIDE | FORMAT | BACKGROUND | click on arrow for drop-down menu
| select FILL EFFECTS | PICTURE tab | click SELECT PICTURE | click on file
of desired picture | INSERT | check "Lock aspect ratio" | OK | APPLY.

:AND have a border around it. Is this
: possible?

You could paste the border to the picture, save it and use that in the above
procedure.

Good Luck.
