inserting pictures in Microsoft Word X

I want to insert a picture in a word document. The help menu suggests
that I go to the "Insert" menu and then click on "picture". The problem
is I can't find the insert menu. It's not in the bar at the top of the
screen. What's up? Do I have to reinstall Word?

No reinstallation should be necessary.

I didn't spend much time in Office X, so I can't remember the precise
path, but where you need to get to is the Customize dialog box. In the
Tools menu is where it will be located, but you may have to select from
a submenu such as 'Customize Toolbars & Menus'.

Once you get there go to the Toolbars page, click the *name* of the
Menu Bar to select it, the click the Reset button. That should restore
the Insert Menu to the bar.

If it doesn't, you can go to the Commands page of the same dialog box &
add Insert back to the menu manually. If that doesn't work or won't
stay fixed, see
