Inserting pictures in Word 2002

When I insert a picture in a Word 2002 document in page layout mode, it
vanishes instantly when the zoom factor changed. So far the only way I found
to re-display the image is changing either dimension of the (not full
screen)window. It instantly appears. Opening a document with 3 .jpg images
two images are visible, the third is not, but can be made to appear as
described above. The OS is Windows XP SP 2.

Any suggestions?

Try reducing the hardware acceleration setting in Start | Control Panel
| Display | Advanced | Troubleshooting.

Check on the Internet support site for the graphics card to see if they have
an updated driver. That may permit you to increase the acceleration again.

: Thanks for the quick reply. Set acceleration to the 40%? mark, it solved

Thanks for these helpful coments. I had the same problems - decreased
accelerator setting and cured the graphics import problem with Word.
However, some other graphics - like screensavers - wouldn't work and things
were a bit slow. Downloaded new driver for Intel graphics card and all is
flying again
