inserting pictures

Since upgrading to XP and Office Pro 2003 I cannot insert
a picture. A blank box appears. I can make the picture
appear by right clicking and selecting "edit picture" but
cannot move the picture except in bits and pieces. I
need to move and enlarge the picture as a whole. Can you
help?

Tools > options > view > uncheck 'picture placeholders'

I couldn't get the pictures to enbed in my word doc. I tried the suggestion printed, but that didnt' work either. I finally got it to work by doing paste special and pasting as a bitmap file instead of html. Maybe this will help others
